This Is Halloween

 Skirt - Primark
Shirt - Topshop
Scarf - Primark
Jacket - (very old) Primark
Earrings - Urban Outfitters
Bag - (very very old) New Look
Bag Scarf - Charity Shop
Happy Halloween all! This is my attempt at a halloweeny style outfit as I didn't get the chance to dress up properly , but I'm hoping to pop a halloween dress-up inspired post within the week.
I personally think I should be called Bargain Betty, the amount of Primark and charity shop clothing in my wardrobe is on the verge of obscene! Can you believe I used to loathe Primark? And charity shops! But I have to admit I have made some amazing discoveries in these stores, for example, everyone has been asking where I bought the scarf on my bag from. I love seeing their faces when I tell them it was £1.99 from a charity shop.
As for the bag its self, well I discovered this bad boy in the back of the wardrobe in our spare room. I got it for my 13th birthday and I hated it with a burning passion, though I now can't remember why. I do have to admit I'm not mad keen on the gold detailing around the bag as it can look tacky. I've already attacked it with a pair of scissors and removed some of the little golden buggers.
I do hope my darling cousin Lydia (http://buyingtings.blogspot.com/) isn't looking at this as I will get an earful over my mismatch make-up, but you are being deceived! My Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation had SPF in it, which, my fellow beauty Betties, can make your make up look lighter in pictures. Do not make my mistake!

I shall post more blogs and I shall improve my wardrobe one buy at a time!

OOTD - I Don't Know Much About Guns

Vest - Primark
Maxi Skirt - Primark
Necklace - Topshop
Rings - Primark

So, I should probably take this chance to apologize for a) the lack of blogs lately, but it's nearly the end of school so they should start to come a little more regularly now, b) the appauling lighting in this picture, it was originally intended to be sent to my best friend to show her my new buys from Primark, which leads us nicely onto c) the amount of Primark in this outfit but I went to Primark this weekend and went a tad crazy.
Moving on, it's probably clear that I have become hooked on the maxi trend this season as I now own 2 maxi skirts, which are probably 2 of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. This perticular beauty (the skirt) cost me £12 from Primark and even I have to admit I'm impressed with the quality, it's a very soft, cotton material, which isn't what you would expect from Primark. I've paired it with a lacey black vest which I bought from Primark last year, but I see people wearing them everywhere so I would assume Primark still sells them, or something just like them.
The necklace is by far one of my favourite necklaces (a jewllery storage + collection blog will be up soon). Again, I bought it around a year ago from Topshop, but you can buy rosary beads everywhere nowadays. My hair is just up in a messy bun, mainly as I couldnt be bothered to do much with it, but I think it looks pretty good with the outfit this way. For shoes, I'd most likely pair this outfit with my brown loafers or some plain black pumps and then add my pleather jacket (again, Primark. How embarressing) to finish off the look.
Hope y'all enjoy x

New Hair!

Yes, I have joined the dip-dye hype. I must admit, for a DIY job, I didnt do too badly. I used the LOREAL bleaching kit to do this (Note: if you're thinking about doing this at home, make sure you use bleach, not regular hair dye as it could just turn orange) which meant rubbing blue gunk on my hair and leaving it for 20 minutes. To get a faded colour effect I applied the bleach twice, once at the tips of my hair and then again higher up to make the blonde lighter at the top and then gradually become blonder, if that makes sense. Overall, this cost me £7, which as you can imagine is a LOT cheaper than having it done professionally, but if you dont want to take the risk of a DIY job, you can get this done for around £20-£30 at a hair-dressers. I'll try to keep y'all updated on quality over time :)

Dulled Down - Sheer Collection No.1

Hair + Make-up  Shots.

So, here is the first to my hopefully many 'Collection' blogs. This little sheer gem is a Primark find (£11 I think) and has yet to show me any signs of bad quality, unlike a few other Primark 'bargins' I've found. I really like the fact that it has a longer back as it gives the shirt a more original and edgy feel whilst hiding my bum on my 'oh-my-gosh-my-arse-is-huge' days (which are becoming more and more frequent).  Because the shirt is sheer and is exposing quite a bit of bralet, I decided to pair it with a plain black skirt (£3.99 - H&M) so that the shirt becomes the focus of the outfit and I dont feel I've over done it. Though, as a budding fashionista I must say I'm embarressed at the lack of jewllery in this outfit. One tip I would give for this outfit: this shirt it quite a bit more see-through than some of my other sheer shirts, so I would advise a bralet (a long bra - mine is from TopShop) or a vest top underneath, rather than just a bra.
I've kept hair and make-up very standard here as well, as this was in fact a school outfit, but I cant say I would have done it very different otherwise. If you want a post about my make-up here, drop a comment my way please.

You Have The Sheild, I'll Take The Sword

Well this is todays outfit of the day.

I'm getting really into maxi dresses and skirts now, while I used to completely shy away from anything unsual or different, so props to me and anyone else converting to the maxis!
This maxi, pleated skirt is actually my mum's from back in the day and I've been in love with it since I was 5 years old, so you can imagine my excitement when she gave it to me a few months ago! Though the reason she gave it to me is because the elastic has broken so I've had to do a bit of DIY and pin the skirt on the inside to hide the saftey pin.
I've paired this skirt with a plain white T-shirt, gold rosary beads and my pleather jacket to give it more of an edgy vibe.
The inspiration for this outft is actually from one of my all time favourite Vogue pictorials, Wild At Heart in 1991.

Skirt - Vintage, T-shirt - H&M, Necklace - Topshop, Pleather Jacket - Primark

Mag-ness

And I wonder where all my money goes. I made one little stop into the WH Smiths and Marlylebone Station and I ended up leaving with 5 magazines. What you can see before you is the American April issue of Vogue, English May issue of Vogue, Company's May issue, the May British Marie Claire issue and the May issue of American Elle.
I have to admit I'm really liking the American Vogue cover this month, I'm a huge fan of Rihanna and I think she looks stunning here. I personally am a fan of her new hair and she is totally rocking it here, you go girl!

Milk Maid Chic?

I don't know  whether it's possible to look like a German milk maid and look good, but I think I've come pretty close here. With summer quickly approaching, though it could come a smidge quicker, I felt it was time to break out of the colourless rut I've got myself in this winter, so out comes the green skirt! This bad boy is one of my new favourite pieces in my wardrobe as you cant help but see it, it doesnt let you ignore it! Kinda like me.
Like most women I have my insecurities about my body and by far my biggest (literally) problem is my butt and thighs, and this skirt helps me to solve that, WINNER - to quote Mr Sheen. A lot of friends have seen this picture on my facebook and commented saying that it looks like I've lost weight, so to all my fellow booty and thigh gals, I would recommend a waist sinched skirt with a bit of volume.
As for the shirt, well that's vintage shopping at it's best I think. I picked up this little number in a vintage shop in Oxford and havnt been able to take it off (not litterally of course). I have a total fetish for sheer clothing this season and this shirt is just that. Don't get me wrong, it's in no way stripper or hoochy sheer, but it does show some minor bra colour, so here's my top tip to all you sheer-virgins, wear a black or darker coloured bra! Anything else will either be too light to show up, or could run the risk of looking hoochy!
If you cant find a good vintage sheer shirt, Primark have begun to sell a range of sheer shirts that are of pretty decent quality. You may need to replace a button here or there though. I'll pop some pictures up of my Sheer collection soon.
So who knows, maybe I've just started next seasons hot new trend, milk maid chic.

Shirt - Vinatge, Skirt - Zara (this season), Belt - Primark (last season)
